Sago Palm Update
Ok, my sago palm at work looks really funky now, and not in a good way. Here:
I wasn’t sure why it was at first, but then I came across this article (scroll to the middle of the page) and learned why it was growing out so weirdly and so differently. Turns out the plant wasn’t getting enough light. WHO KNEW? Who in the world knew that plants need water… AND light! Geez, mystery solved! Well, no one at work really could figure it out either. Apparently I have light coming into my cubicle from the tall windows, just not enough of it. And so that is why I moved it to the windowsill. Too late now, but at least now I know. If it ever starts sprouting new leaves again, I’ll move it to more direct sunlight.
What I don’t understand is how this one guy has the exact same plant that I do, but a much bigger one, in his office, which has no window, and receives no sunlight, yet looks perfect year round… he says he just waters it once a week and fertilizes it every now and then, but I’m thinking maybe it’s actually fake.
